Thanks for the fb link to this article, Suzanne, and thank you, Jorja, for writing it. I'll gladly pass it on! I've been thinking more this week, in our Spiritual Philosophy studies and what "healing means to me," about how we must be able to recognize the need for, or what needs to be changed, before we will know our power TO change! Keep up the good work!

Jorja, Thank you for this beautiful piece of writing. The truth of what we can do is powerful and reminds me that every effort counts. Let's grow the circles in every community we find an opening.

Thanks, Suzanne! I think it is hard for women in leadership to find their management style. I believe that women need to stop trying to adopt a style and instead build a style that works off the strengths that got them into leadership in the first place. We need to recognize that we were promoted into leadership in the first place for the good qualities we possess, and those qualities are what we need to rely on as our management style. To me, it's not Queen Bee or Aunt Bee - we should just be our best selves when we lead.

Amy I love this and have read it over a couple of times. I have had several women in the past year bring up the issue of Queen Bees and their belief (or is it fear) that when women "get" in leadership roles they turn into something other than their best self, or their "real" self comes out. It's a thorny issue and I applaud the way you have approached it and thank you for blogging!
